Basketball Game Preview: Mullen Broncos vs. Paxton Tigers

Mullen is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Paxton is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The two teams will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Mullen was fully in charge, breezing past Arthur County 53-24. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mullen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jenna Donohoe, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Hayley Donohoe, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Paxton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sandhills/Thedford on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win.

Paxton's win came from a few key players Mullen will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jordan Clouse, who scored nine points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleigh Hansen, who had ten points and three steals.

Mullen's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Paxton, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
