Baseball Recap: Normangee Victorious

While Normangee put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Iola. The Normangee Panthers walked away with a 5-0 win over the Iola Bulldogs. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 13-2 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2017.

Wyatt Kimich was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

The win made it two in a row for Normangee and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Iola, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Normangee will take on Milano at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Normangee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Milano's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Iola, they will challenge Teague at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Teague will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Iola surely won't give up without a fight.
