Union started the match off right with 42 first-half points. Meanwhile, Plainfield couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 42-0 heading into the break. Union were outperformed in the second half 0-12 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win.
Junior Andrew Sanborn was the offensive standout of the match for Union, as he passed for 143 yards and 4 touchdowns. Senior Isaiah Stewart was in the mix, too, providing Union with 2 touchdowns. The contest pushed Plainfield down to 1-2 and pulled Union up to the reverse at 2-1.
Union will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Phillipsburg. As for Plainfield, they will face off against Linden. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
