Baseball Recap: Bella Vista Comes Up Short

Bella Vista lost against Rio Americano on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Bella Vista fell 5-2 to Rio Americano. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zack O'Neill was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bella Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Longaker, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Bella Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Rio Americano, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Looking ahead, Bella Vista will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Inderkum at 4:00 p.m. Inderkum's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Bella Vista's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rio Americano, they will square off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
