Basketball Game Preview: Mosley Dolphins vs. Choctawhatchee Indians

The Mosley Dolphins will square off against the Choctawhatchee Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mosley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Mosley took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed by Franklin County to the tune of 56-23. Given the Dolphins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Seahawks are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mosley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Mcfatter led the charge by putting up 14 points and three steals. Mcfatter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Smith, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Choctawhatchee walked away with it. They slipped by the Gators 26-25 on Monday. The 26-point effort marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mosley pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Choctawhatchee, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.

Mosley skirted past Choctawhatchee 48-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mosley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
