Softball Game Preview: Stevenson Bulldogs vs. Fort Vancouver Trappers

The Stevenson Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Fort Vancouver Trappers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stevenson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Stevenson came up short against La Center and fell 7-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Rebecca Townsend was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Madi Nordgaard also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Vancouver). They were the clear victors by a 27-8 margin over Castle Rock on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trappers.

Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fort Vancouver, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.

Stevenson beat Fort Vancouver 11-7 in their previous matchup back in March of 2016. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Trappers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
