Baseball Recap: Bishop Kearney Takes a Loss

Bishop Kearney came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Aquinas Institute Little Irish, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Little Irish this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 last Thursday.

Bishop Kearney saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Augie Valentini, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Valentini has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Bishop Kearney suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-5. As for Aquinas Institute, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.

Bishop Kearney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against Northstar Christian Academy on the 1st. As for Aquinas Institute, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-12 defeat against Le Roy on the 2nd.
