Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brea Lima and Lex Foley Lead West Warwick to Victory

West Warwick was handed a 25-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged the South Kingstown Rebels out 40-37. For the Wizards, this counts as revenge for the 52-49 win the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

Leading West Warwick to victory were Lex Foley and Brea Lima. Foley posted 12 points and six steals, while Lima almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Foley is becoming a predictor of West Warwick's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 4-1 (and 5-9 when she doesn't).

South Kingstown lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Isabella DiGioia, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Abbie O'Rourke was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

West Warwick's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for South Kingstown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

West Warwick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-40 loss against Ponaganset on the 5th. As for South Kingstown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-21 defeat against Portsmouth on the 10th.
