Trevor Daughtry leads Wabash to victory over Mississinewa

Even though the Wabash Apaches have not done well against the Mississinewa Indians recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Wabash had just enough and edged Mississinewa out 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Wabash has posted yet this season.

Trevor Daughtry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with three steals. Izaak Wright was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.

Mississinewa's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kobe Johnson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kiontaye Woods, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.

Wabash is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Mississinewa, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Wabash will head out on the road to challenge North Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Miami is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Mississinewa will take on Elwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Elwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Mississinewa is ranked 161st).
