Gilmour Academy can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took down the Avon Lake Shoremen 57-42. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Shoremen are ranked 608th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gilmour Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Avon Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Gilmour Academy will take on Upper Arlington at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Avon Lake, they will square off against Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
