Wayland is a perfect 4-0 against Thornapple Kellogg since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will head out to take on the Trojans at 4:15 p.m. Wayland's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Thornapple Kellogg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Thornapple Kellogg will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Wayland extended their winning streak to three on Friday. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Kalamazoo Christian as they made off with a 16-4 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Catholic Central hit Thornapple Kellogg with a eight-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 14-14 draw.

Wayland's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. Thornapple Kellogg's draw gives them a new season record of 6-5-1.

Wayland took their victory against Thornapple Kellogg in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
