Softball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Northmont Thunderbolts, falling 13-2. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Thunderbolts from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Springfield saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Brooks, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Addison Wolford was another, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Northmont, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6.

Coming up, Northmont will head out to take on Tippecanoe at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Springfield will be paying especially close attention to the Thunderbolts' game: after the Thunderbolts face off against Ross, they'll take on Springfield again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
