Crater came tearing into Thursday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Springfield Millers a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Crater pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Springfield, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21.

Crater will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Millers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
