Baseball Recap: Argyle Eagles vs. Carlsbad Lancers
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Argyle ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Carlsbad Lancers 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Nixon Tooley looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathaniel Bruce, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Casselberry, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.
