Softball Recap: Lampeter-Strasburg Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Lampeter-Strasburg had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Governor Mifflin on Thursday. The Pioneers never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Natalie Hill made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hill was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lampeter-Strasburg let Paige Baxter and Lily Kuhns run wild. Baxter went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Kuhns got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabelle King, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Lampeter-Strasburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Lampeter-Strasburg is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Governor Mifflin, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Looking ahead, Lampeter-Strasburg will head out to challenge Solanco at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Governor Mifflin, they will be playing at home against Exeter Township at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
