Softball Recap: Minooka Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

Minooka gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on the Crystal Lake Central Tigers with a sharp 15-3 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Ava Knutsen and Addisonn Crumly did most of the damage at the plate: Knutsen went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Crumly went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Knutsen has posted since back in April. Ava Nahs was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Minooka is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Crystal Lake Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Minooka didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 tie against Fremd on the 2nd. As for Crystal Lake Central, they will welcome Leyden at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
