Basketball Recap: Central Academy Comes Up Short

Central Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the St. Mary Catholic Central Falcons/Kestrels and fell 80-40. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Falcons/Kestrels are ranked 257th).

Central Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Central Academy has already played their next matchup (against Hamtramck), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Mary Catholic Central will take on Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in St. Mary Catholic Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
