Baseball Recap: Walton Triumphs

Walton took a 19-run loss the last time they faced off against Delaware Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 8-7. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since May 7, 2019.

The team relied heavily on Grayson Palmer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Zander Stanton also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Walton's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Delaware Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Walton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Delaware Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Sidney at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
