Basketball Recap: Donavyn Riley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tri-City over Edinburg

Tri-City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edinburg Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornadoes of the 60-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donavyn Riley, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Gage Shafer, who scored 17 points.

Tri-City's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Edinburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Tri-City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-26 defeat against Casey-Westfield on the 15th. As for Edinburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-50 victory against Lincolnwood on the 21st.
