The Foothill Falcons will venture away from home to  take on the Berkeley Yellowjackets  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. Foothill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4  runs per game  this season.
Foothill is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18  runs  on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Alameda  on Thursday. They fell  4-1 to the Hornets. The  matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.
 Foothill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ellie Novitske, who  went 2-for-3 with one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Berkeley got the win against Saint Mary's  on Saturday by a conclusive  22-3. The  win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.
Berkeley got a  massive  performance out of  Hannah Sumner, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs and four  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Camil Babij Ross, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 4-for-4.
 Berkeley was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .583. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in March of 2024.
 Foothill's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 3-1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Berkeley, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
Both Foothill and Berkeley just can't seem to miss. Foothill has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 10.6  hits per game. However, it's not like Berkeley struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 4.7  hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Everything went Foothill's way against Berkeley in their previous meeting  back in February of 2024, as Foothill made off with  a  17-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foothill since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
