Softball Recap: Scurry-Rosser Wildcats vs. Mabank Panthers

After flying high against Berkner last Friday, Scurry-Rosser came back down to earth. The Scurry-Rosser Wildcats lost 23-13 to the Mabank Panthers on Wednesday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Emilie Johnstone was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Richman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Scurry-Rosser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Scurry-Rosser now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Mabank, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Scurry-Rosser will head out to challenge Rockwall-Heath at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mabank, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Van at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
