Glenbard West took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Downers Grove North, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hilltoppers had just enough and edged out the Trojans 3-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hilltoppers have posted against the Trojans since May 17, 2022.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hinsdale South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Addison Trail get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Glenbard West's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Hinsdale South, their win bumped their record up to 7-13-1.

Glenbard West came out on top in a nail-biter against Hinsdale South in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Hilltoppers repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
