Softball Game Preview: Reedley Pirates vs. Tulare Union Tribe

Reedley hasn't had much luck against Tulare Union recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Reedley will be playing in front of their home fans against Tulare Union at 6:00 p.m. Reedley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Reedley is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since March 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Dinuba by a score of 5-3.

Reedley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macy Ruiz, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Ruiz a new career-high in doubles (two).

Meanwhile, Tulare Union won against Roosevelt on Saturday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Tulare Union put the hurt on Corcoran with a sharp 18-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tribe.

The team relied heavily on KaiLee Gilbert, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Cardenas, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Tulare Union's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Reedley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
