Basketball Game Preview: Williamsburg Academy Stallions vs. Calhoun Academy Cavaliers

The Williamsburg Academy Stallions will take on the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers in a holiday battle at at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

Williamsburg Academy is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since January 19th on Monday. They were dealt a 63-31 defeat at the hands of East Clarendon. The game marked the Stallions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Calhoun Academy sidestepped Laurence Manning Academy for a 40-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Calhoun Academy's win came from a few key players Williamsburg Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nick Lindsay, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Strickland, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Calhoun Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Williamsburg Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Williamsburg Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Calhoun Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2017, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory.
