Recap: Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights vs. KIPP College Prep Panthers
On Thursday, the Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights faced the KIPP College Prep Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Friendship Collegiate Academy secured a 57-51 W over KIPP College Prep. The win was just what Friendship Collegiate Academy needed coming off of a 68-23 defeat in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, KIPP College Prep still got an impressive performance from Elijah Durant, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Durant has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahmir Lindsey, who scored 12 points.
Friendship Collegiate Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for KIPP College Prep, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Friendship Collegiate Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Banneker at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Banneker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Friendship Collegiate Academy likes a good challenge. As for KIPP College Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Parkside at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
