After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwestern, Whitley County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Barbourville Tigers an 8-0 shutout. Whitley County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by five goals or more this season.

Whitley County picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 8-4-1. As for Barbourville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Whitley County and Barbourville will both be playing Middlesboro the next time they take the pitch. The Colonels will host the Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
