Baseball Recap: Warren Central Comes Up Short

Warren Central was the 16-0 winner over Irvington Preparatory Academy when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Irvington Preparatory Academy on Saturday.

Keith Jackson was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Warren Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Warren Central will host Lawrence North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, they will be playing at home against Indianapolis Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
