Monterey Trail had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Franklin Wildcats by a score of 72-61. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.

Monterey Trail's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rashawn Inglemon, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 26 points. Another player making a difference was Devaughn Dorrough, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Franklin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Juarros, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points along with six assists and six boards. What's more, Juarros also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Brandon Wasserman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Monterey Trail is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Franklin, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4.

Monterey Trail didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-48 victory against Pleasant Grove on the 27th. As for Franklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-49 win against Laguna Creek on the 27th.
