Baseball Recap: Battery Creek Dolphins vs. Loris Lions

Suggested Video

Battery Creek extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-10 in the process. They came up short against the Loris Lions, falling 11-1. If the Dolphins were looking for revenge after losing 12-3 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Loris, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Loris' part, Hayden Day looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Day has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Aiden Suggs was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Ethan Hardee was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Battery Creek nor Loris have any future games scheduled.
