Baseball Recap: Crest Comes Up Short

Crest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marmaton Valley Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Thursday.

Crest's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Marmaton Valley, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crest will take on Jayhawk Linn at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marmaton Valley, they will challenge Marais des Cygnes Valley on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
