Volleyball Recap: Weslaco Panthers vs. McAllen Bulldogs

Weslaco lost against McAllen back in August of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caitlyn Escamilla paced Weslaco's offense, picking up five kills. Escamilla were helped by Madison Martinez and Sati Alonzo, who contributed five assists each.

McAllen was led to victory by Gabriella Saenz and Rozlynn Navarro. Saenz had eight digs and four aces, while Navarro had four digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Navarro a new career-high.

Weslaco now has a losing record of 1-2. As for McAllen, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Weslaco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial on the 15th. As for McAllen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Harlingen on the 15th.
