Volleyball Game Preview: Everglades Gators vs. Hollywood Hills Spartans

The Everglades Gators are taking a road trip to take on the Hollywood Hills Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hollywood Hills took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Everglades, who comes in off a win.

Everglades took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Miramar with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Everglades never let Miramar on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Hills came up short against South Plantation on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Despite the defeat, Hollywood Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Christian Hernandez had 19 digs.

Hollywood Hills' loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Everglades, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Everglades was able to grind out a solid victory over Hollywood Hills when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
