Basketball Game Preview: Itawamba Agricultural Indians vs. West Union Eagles

The Itawamba Agricultural Indians are taking a road trip to take on the West Union Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Itawamba Agricultural comes in on three and West Union on five.

Last Tuesday, Itawamba Agricultural made easy work of Tishomingo County and carried off a 75-55 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-21.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Union). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hickory Flat 95-25. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Itawamba Agricultural has also been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for West Union, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5.

Itawamba Agricultural lost to West Union on the road by a decisive 68-51 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Itawamba Agricultural avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
