Basketball Recap: Kendrick Carr's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lamar over Bergman

Lamar has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bergman Panthers on Saturday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 72-66 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lamar's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendrick Carr, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Carr a new career-high in rebounds. Kaz Crotts was another key player, putting up 20 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Lamar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Bergman, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home.

Lamar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-59 win against Cedarville on the 7th. Bergman has also already played their next game, a 70-36 victory against Flippin on the 7th.
