Basketball Recap: Aynor Comes Up Short

Aynor was the 27-20 winner over Pee Dee Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Aynor Blue Jackets fell 38-25 to the Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 35th).

Despite the loss, Aynor still got an impressive performance from Terianna Richardson, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Richardson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elisha Huffman, who posted seven points and three steals.

Aynor has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Pee Dee Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Aynor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-18 victory against Carolina Academy on the 14th. As for Pee Dee Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-10 win against Lake View on the 14th.
