Jason Babilonia leads a balanced attack to beat KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy

Recap: Science Leadership Academy vs. KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy

Science Leadership Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They strolled past KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy with points to spare, taking the game 66-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Science Leadership Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Science Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jason Babilonia led the charge by scoring 25 points. Another player making a difference was Nirel Woodson, who scored 18 points.

Despite the loss, KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy still got an impressive performance from Mekhi Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson set a new season high mark in blocks with five. The team also got some help courtesy of Sayid Cooley, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The win got Science Leadership Academy back to even at 2-2. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Science Leadership Academy will head out on the road to face off against Philadelphia Academy Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Philadelphia Academy Charter's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so Science Leadership Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Science Leadership Academy. KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Swenson Arts & Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
