Softball Recap: Chiles Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

After only two runs in their last matchup, Chiles made sure to put some runs up on the board against Ashford on Friday. The Timberwolves were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Yellowjackets. For the Timberwolves, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 win the Yellowjackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Anna Kate Barber, who fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Trumbower, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Chiles always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ashford only posted an OBP of .000.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Chiles, bringing their record up to 7-1. As for Ashford, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Chiles didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 win against Brewbaker Tech on the 7th. As for Ashford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-2 loss against Northview on the 6th.
