Softball Recap: Canandaigua Academy Takes a Loss

Canandaigua Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brockport Blue Devils. Braves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Blue Devils since on Thursday.

Sarah Goodsell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles were her first of the season.

Canandaigua Academy's record is now 1-14. As for Brockport, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canandaigua Academy will welcome Gates Chili at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Braves are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Brockport, they will square off against Spencerport at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rangers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
