After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Valley Southwest, The Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-14 victory over Fort Scott. Given Saint Thomas Aquinas' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Fort Scott is ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saint Thomas Aquinas was led to victory by Cole Richardson and Elzie Slaughter. Richardson rushed for 106 yards on only 14 carries, while Slaughter rushed for 98 yards on only six carries.
Saint Thomas Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Fort Scott, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Saint Thomas Aquinas will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Miege at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Miege will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Fort Scott does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
