Seventy-First was the 64-62 winner over Lumberton when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Seventy-First Falcons fell 62-50 to the Lumberton Pirates on Friday. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Seventy-First's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kariana Williams, who posted 14 points and four steals. Williams has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Asia Clark was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Seventy-First's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lumberton, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Seventy-First didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-55 loss against West Charlotte on the 18th. As for Lumberton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-45 defeat against St. Pauls on the 18th.
