Basketball Recap: Cambridge Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Zay Burton and Caden Martinez

After flying high against Lakeside Christian last Friday, Cambridge Christian came back down to earth. The Cambridge Christian Lancers took a 59-40 bruising from the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets on Tuesday. The Lancers have struggled against the BlueJackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Cambridge Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Caden Martinez and Zay Burton. Martinez posted 13 points, while Burton had 12 points. Andrew Proffitt was another key player, putting up six points.

It was another big night for Hayden Hundt, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 24 points along with six boards and three steals for Admiral Farragut. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Fontasiewicz, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Cambridge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Admiral Farragut, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Cambridge Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-37 win against Out-of-Door Academy on the 12th. Admiral Farragut has also already played their next game, a 63-50 victory against Hollins on the 12th.
