Basketball Recap: East Mountain Falls Despite Big Games from Jodie Tillman and Evelyn Kannolt

East Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, with their most recent defeat being a 66-57 loss last Tuesday.

Evelyn Kannolt and Jodie Tillman certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Kannolt posted 15 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Tillman put up 18 points and six boards. That's the most blocks Kannolt has posted since back in January.

Cottonwood Classical Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Savannah Bingham out in front who had seven points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

East Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-19 record this season.

East Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-36 loss against Sandia Prep on the 27th.
