Basketball Recap: Concordia Prep Takes a Loss

Concordia Prep lost against Loyola Blakefield back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Saints were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to the Dons. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loyola Blakefield found their leader in sophomore Carmine Coles, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Ayomikun Olofintila was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Concordia Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Loyola Blakefield, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Concordia Prep will take on Severn School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Saints their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Loyola Blakefield, they will challenge St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dons will be up against the Saints' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
