Red Bud and Wesclin pushed the score to 13-6 the last time they played Wesclin, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Musketeers never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Musketeers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Landon Ruebusch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Ruebusch wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucas MaCarthy, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Red Bud's record now sits at 13-4. As for Wesclin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Coming up, Red Bud will face off against Sparta at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wesclin, they will challenge Vandalia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vandals will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
