Basketball Recap: Jackson Comes Up Short

Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Vinton County Vikings and fell 55-22. The Ironman/Ironladies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Vinton County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Jackson and Vinton County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Jackson (ranked 720th) will meet Miami Trace (ranked 316th) at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Meanwhile, Vinton County will square off against Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Monday down 312 places (358 vs. 46).
