Preview: Marceline Tigers vs. Westran Hornets
After two games on the road, Marceline is heading back home. They will take on the Westran Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marceline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 536th, while the Hornets are ranked 176th).
Last Tuesday, Marceline came up short against the Wildcats and fell 59-49.
In what's become a running theme this season, Westran gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Fayette 68-31 at home. With Westran ahead 46-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Marceline's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Westran, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
Marceline was dealt a bruising 77-27 loss at the hands of the Hornets in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Marceline, Langden Kitchen (who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
