Softball Recap: Centennial Victorious

While Centennial's win against Ennis wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Lions 6-4.

Brooke Mayner was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lexie Arthur, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Ennis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Centennial will take on Lake Ridge at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ennis, they will face off against Duncanville at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers and Pantherettes have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
