Baseball Recap: Monrovia Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Indianapolis Shortridge on Thursday, Monrovia came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owen Valley Patriots on Monday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Grant Kluemper was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Monrovia's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5. As for Owen Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monrovia will venture away from home to face off against Indianapolis Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Owen Valley, they will head out to challenge Cloverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots are facing the Clovers at the right time seeing as the Clovers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
