Jaleigh Lindley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Rodgers, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cascade got the win against Fishers on Saturday by a conclusive 16-8. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Lacie Godby was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Suzy Moore was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI and one run.
Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 27 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Cascade's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for West Vigo, their record now sits at 20-1.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Vigo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Cascade struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Vigo suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Cascade when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
