Bartram Trail entered their tilt with Fernandina Beach on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Fernandina Beach Pirates with a sharp 61-41 win. The Bears pushed the score to 47-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

Bartram Trail's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxon Williamson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 assists. Those 11 assists gave Williamson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Souza, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards.

Williamson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Bartram Trail was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fernandina Beach only racked up 12 assists.

Despite the loss, Fernandina Beach still got an impressive performance from Jake Aronowitz, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Raysor, who posted six points.

Bartram Trail pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Fernandina Beach, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Bartram Trail will square off against St. Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fernandina Beach, they will challenge Sandalwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fernandina Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.
